MGM Grand Description

The MGM Grand truly lives up to its name, not only in sheer size, but also in its vast offerings. Located at one of the busiest intersections in Las Vegas, MGM Grand provides a world of entertainment, dining and unwinding – both day and night.

The grandness starts outside, with the 100,000-pound, 45-foot-tall bronze lion statue perched atop a 25-foot pedestal where the $1 billion resort meets the Strip. LED screens, water fountains and lush landscaping surround the lion – the largest bronze statue in the U.S.

The adventure continues inside, where guests will find 5,044 rooms in four 30-story towers, more than a dozen restaurants and more than 170,000 square feet of gaming. There is even the convenience of tourist attractions on site, including a zoo (Lion Habitat), a television studio (CBS Television City Research Center) and a water park (1,000 foot long lazy river at the 27,000-square-foot pool complex).

Accommodations are as varied as the rest of the property’s offerings, ranging in size and price. Tower and Bungalow rooms are spacious with modern designs and amenities, while the Celebrity Spa Suites include whirlpool tubs and an oversized bedroom. With its own outside entrance for easy access from the Strip, The West Wing includes rooms with high-end amenities such as flat screen televisions, DVD players and Bose Wave radios.

On the top two floors of the MGM Grand, an exclusive hotel within a hotel, the Skylofts, caters to sophisticated travelers, with service tailored to their specific needs and 24-hour butler service. Adjacent to the MGM Grand is the Signature all-suite tower, a non-smoking, boutique property, accessible from the MGM Grand via an indoor walkway.

MGM Grand’s enormous casino entices players, with games including blackjack, craps, roulette, baccarat and an array of slot and poker machines, as well as keno, a Baccarat lounge and high limit slots. The poker room is large and modern, while the race and sports book offers private sky boxes.

Whether it's steak and lobster at Craftsteak, the grilled delicacies at Michael Mina's Seablue or Italian cuisine at Fiamma Trattoria, you'll never go hungry at the MGM. Experience the traditions of different cities in Las Vegas – try Emeril's New Orleans Fish House or Nobhill, which serves classic San Francisco-style cuisine. Venture down the coast to Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill, for the tastes of Southern California.

Entertainment is also plentiful with several options in a variety of unique venues. MGM Grand's Crazy Horse Paris is performed in a theater designed as an exact replica of the famed Parisian cabaret. The Cirque du Soleil show takes place on a non-traditional stage that floats, rotates, twists and turns. A lineup of renowned performers come to the Hollywood Theater, while some of rock 'n' roll's greatest acts, from the Rolling Stones to U2, take the stage in The MGM Grand Garden Arena -- also home to many highly touted championship boxing events.

Legendary nightclub Studio 54 and chic ultra lounge, Tabú, lure the crowds at nighttime and well into the early morning hours. Keep the party going all day long at the pool club WET Republic or relax at The Grand Spa at The MGM, which offers several therapies in more than 20 Zen-inspired treatment rooms, far away from the chaos of the casino.

There aren’t many hotels with offerings so grand that it’s practically an entire vacation under one roof. With such a wide variety of things to do and see at the MGM Grand, don't be the least bit surprised if it takes more than one visit to experience it all.
